  • Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center

    The Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center provides an overview of the expedition of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. It focuses on the time they spent at Fort Mandan. Displays at the center include Native American artifacts.

    Bergquist Gallery is located at the interpretive center and features prints of Karl Bodmer’s watercolors along with written descriptions that show the cultures of the Upper Midwest Native Americans.

    The interpretive center is located at the intersection of United States Highway 83 and North Dakota Highway 200A on McLean County Highway 17 in Washburn, N.D. The center is about 38 miles north of Bismarck, N.D. The center is open daily all year. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. For the rest of the year, hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
